Penang Road Famous TeoChew Chendul@Paradigm Mall.

I really missed their chendul.

Those sold alongside Pasembur /Indian rojak mobile stall  in the city,
just can't compare with them.

Now, it is available @Paradigm Mall at RM4.90/bowl.

It also comes with various toppings like durian, chempedak, ice cream..etc at
extra cost.

I ordered the original version with very finely shaved ice and if you want more brown
sugar-a bottle of it is placed on every table.

Penang delicacy like Assam Laksa, Curry Laksa, Rojak, Popiah...etc is also available
@Rm7.90/bowl.

The authenticity of the food is very close to what i had in Penang.

Chendul-Rm4.90/

Assam Laksa -comparable to those in Penang-Rm7.90

Location: fronting Tesco@Paradigm Mall,
Kelana, Jaya, Petaling Jaya.

I was in Penang a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed with some of the food. The chendol outside Joo Hooi coffeeshop on Penang Rd is ok but definitely not as lemak as before. Even the gula melaka was not quite the full monty. Worse was the assam laksa in Joo Hooi itself - no more cucumber but instead they use iceberg lettuce now! And now with the barest hint of bunga kantan. This essential ingredient was hardly there at all! Just 2 examples of how the dumbing down is happening with some of the hawker favourites. It's ironical that there are so many stalls all screaming "Famous Penang" this or that. In my opinion many of the hawker stalls are merely trading on their history while cheapening the product. Pity.

Anon:5.54-chendul portion a bit small.

Anon 12.51: it tasted quite authentic
to me-one of the good ones in PJ.
