Restoran New Apollos @ USJ4.

My brother Meng, Whatapps me a photo of a plate of fried beef noodle
from a stall in Subang Jaya.

It's looks so tempting and it was fried by one of the Soo Kee
clan's son.

Die, die must try !!

So, off we go, it was just a 15 minutes drive from my place.

First time here at Restoran New Apollos, USJ, Subang Jaya,
a neighbor coffee shop filled with all the local specialty stalls
and there is even a Nasi Kandar run by a Chinese, too.

Our target was the fried beef noodle with ginger and spring onion in
a dark egg gravy (Myr10) and fried Cantonese styled yin yong noodle
with liver, pork, prawn in a too starchy egg gravy. (Myr8)

The beef noodle stands out with it's generous amount of tender beef slices
while the yin yong noodle was overloaded with pig's liver.

Will go back to try the Nasi Kandar and the other stalls, too.

Choo Choo Chicken @Sri Petaling.

There are so many new restaurants opening up in Sri Petaling,
a neighbor suburb.

Choo Choo Chicken is the new kid of the block on Banker's street.

Parking is ample in a giant parking lot, nearby and if you park along the
street - the parking meter is always faulty.

We arrived just before noon and the restaurant was in a festive mood with
it's Christmas's decor.

A quick run through the menu and on placing our order, was told chicken
wings and drumettes are not available- how can it be, just open for business
no stocks ????

Instead they replaced it with fried chicken balls (quite a number of tendons)
- garlic and honey soy flavor served with fried wedges.

And a Choo Choo rice set - sandwhiched with tuna and kimchi plus a spicy
fried chicken fillet which was good.

Overall an affordable and meaty (carnivorous) meal.

Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee Restaurant @Sunway Mas Commercial Centre..

Have not tried their main branch in Sentul because of  it's distance
and inconvenience.

Heard that it is a good supper place.

Anyway, this place in Sunway Mas Commercial Centre is just a stone
throwaway from my residence.

Always passed by here - the flying embers from the charcoal fire is
a sight to behold but never patronize.

This evening the urge for fried noodle was "on" and here we are.

Beside fried noodle they do serve other stir fried dishes, too.

We ordered a Charcoal fire fried Hokkien rice vermicelli / thick yellow
noodle, a bowl of Lor Mee in a sticky egg gravy topped with pork
lard and generously ingredients and a plate of butter mantis prawns
which were fleshy and with fragrant buttery floss.

A great and tasty meal and they did not disappoint !!

Le Pont Boulangerie @ Sri Petaling.

The commercial hub of Sri Petaling is quite a happening place.

From local food to upmarket restaurants, family karaoke, pubs,
banks supermarket and has one of the best Pasar Malam on
Tuesday, it's all there.

Double parking is a habit on weekends even though there is a
huge car park just some walking distance away.

We were around the place to run an errand and Le Pont Boulangerie
caught our attention with its creative and modern interior decor.

Their varied lunch set looks attractive, inviting and affordable, too.

Pastry display.

Over hanging tea and glass cups.

The place is new, very comfortable and the food served are generously sized.

We ordered a Chicken Chop (with black pepper, onion sauce, fries
and sauteed carrot and mushroom) and a Fisherman Catch ( two big pieces
of battered Sole fillet marinated in salt and pepper and served with
salad and fries)

Plus a salad and of iced blackcurrant lemon drink, too.

Restoran Ah Hua Bak Kut Teh.

Restoran Yi Xin Ge have changed name and ownership
to Restoran Ah Hua Bak Kut Teh.

Now it's run by the previous owner's elder brother and sister.

The distinct taste and herbal flavor of the broth and tender meat cuts
are still retained, just like their late father's time.

The price for bowl is Rm15 (smaller portion) compared to
Rm17 the previous time.

Overall  a comforting meal but need to order 1 1/2 portion for
two persons.

Hope they keep the family's Bak kut teh tradition.

Mimi Korean Restaurant.

Another great meal at Mimi Korean Restaurant, a small
clean and air conditioned place.

They are still having a 20% discount on all food and beverages
until further notice.

We had tried all their set menu and now on to their al carte menu.

We ordered a grilled pork belly served on a hot plate with lots of
fragrant onion hidden underneath and earthy enoki mushroom
on it's side.

And a bowl of hot pot Bibimbab with grilled chicken meat,
assorted julienne greens, dried seaweed and a raw egg yolk
all mixed up with the rice and fermented  soybean paste to give
it's a bowl of warm goodness.

Unlimited sizeable ban chan to tease your palate and tummy.

 Pretty affordable.

Village Roast Duck.

A rare shopping time because of the 11/11/17 offer craze at most shopping malls.

We went to Sunway Pyramid as my son wanted a haircut, while we
went hunting for a pair of sport shoe for myself.

As most of the designer's sports shoes were way beyond my budget
and many of them do not match my style.

My usual brand is New Balance for it's lightness, broad front and durable.

Came lunch, we took a breather and had our lunch at Village Roast Duck.
Business was brisk, we waited awhile to get seated.

We ordered a quarter roast duck, wantan mee with bbq pork belly, a boat
porridge with shredded duck meat, a plate of fried rice and a serving of
watercress soup and guilinggao.

Overall a great meal and affordable.

After lunch, we walked around and spotted an irresistible
offer of 30% off on all shoes at Sole What.

After fitting out a few shoes, I settled on a New Balance shoes which fitted me perfectly.

Mimi Korean Restaurant @Taipan Damansara.

Newly opened Mimi Korean is the new kid on the block in Taipan Damansara.
near to Tesco Hypermarket, Ara Damansara.

Located in a obscured corner shop lot, can be quiet and dark
in the evening.

The restaurant is run by a Korean chef and a friendly manager, so the food
served are quite authentic.

They are having a 20% discount on all food and beverages for a limited period.

We ordered the pork shoulder set served with julienne carrot, chives, enoki
mushroom, tofu and add-on of ramen in a kimchi soup, grated cheese,
liquid egg and cooked grilled pork shoulder on the side.
with unlimited big serving of banchan and a chive pancake.

Overall a good meal, good service and affordable.

Parking is ample in the evening.

Food hunt around Petaling Street on a sunny afternoon.

We drove downtown and was hoping to find a nice place to park
in Madras Lane - a good axis point to all of our makan places,
but alas a foreign filming crew and their vehicles occupied
the whole parking lot.

We then drove around and was lucky to find a parking spot
(Rm4/hour) next to a Chinese Temple at the entrance of Petaling Street.

First place to eat was Lala in rice vermicelli soup and Beef noodle
at Restoran Lai Foong,  a good ten minutes walk from one end to the other.
Well worth the walk - lala was delicious, gingery, refreshing and intoxicating to
the taste buds while the beef koay teow noodle was passable - nice
broth and generously sized.

Next we took a slow walk through a side lane to Sang Kee
(a stone throwaway from here), famous for their fried noodles.
We had a two pax fried beef koay teow noodle with ginger slices
and spring onion - good wok hei, gingery and tender beef slices.
Plus a plate of delicious Yin Yong noodle with an eggy gravy for my wife.

After the meal and a hot pot of Puer tea to wash down, the 1 pm afternoon
sun was at it's full fury.
We walked back to the crossroad of  bustling Petaling Street to takeaway half
a salted roast duck (Rm28) for dinner from Sze Ngan Chye.

Last destination was next door to where we parked our car,

Merchant's Lane for some snacks of Port Klang (seafood fritters
with Thai sauce) and coffee.
A nice, cozy and bright air conditioned place to rest our weary legs, too !

It was like a food marathon to us and get to exercise, too!
