Restoran Prosperity Bowl@SS2

I've been eating their clear soup/dry noodles with boiled chicken when they
were located at a stall behind Restoran New Sea View.

The owner cum cook Roger Khoo and his wife Mimi are friendly and very accommodating.

He has tweaked his chicken soup into a clear and ching one with an umami taste.

Their boiled chickens are of the free range type with names like Oat fed chicken and black legged chicken.

Both of these breeds are tasty with firm and fragrant meat.

Usually my order are kon loh mee with crackling deep fried pig lard and a bowl of chicken soup with

sliced boiled pork with fats and springy meat balls plus a plate of boiled chicken (suitable for four persons)

Or a soupy version with rice vermicelli with meatballs and sliced boiled pork (with fat and lean meat).

Parking is ok.

...and finished off with a cup of Tea with less sugar.

Restoran Chan Meng Kee@SS2.

All the good hype about it, did not turned out like it should be.

Not much springiness in wanton mee - char siew tough textures- no melt in the mouth sensation.

Braised chicken feet-soft and the skin fell off easily

Blanched Choy Sam was old and thin stalks,

Siew Kow was full of essential ingredients to make it stand out.

Looks appealing and was not salty.

Tai Lei Loi Kei@Plaza33.

I love anything that is associated with pig-dead or alive.

Did you all know that every parts of the pig can be used and be eaten ?

The anatomy of a pig is almost similar to a human being !

My wife makes one of my favorite pork chop (loin eye muscle minus the rib bone) using her secret marinade.

Tai Lei Loi Kei, Pork chop@Rm13.90/ is a different entity from hers'

The marinade is light with a tinge of saltiness-the deep fried pork chop is just rightly cooked,
rendering it to be tender, meaty with a crunch with every bite.

The Polo Bun that covers the Pork Chop is way too small-i ate it by biting around the pork edges-then together with the bun and ended the meal with a good chew around the rib's bone.

Overall a fulfilling and hearty meal for lunch.

Choon Prawn Mee House.

I ate my first mee yoke or prawn mee when I was about nine years old.

Back in the 60's there was this Penang guy named Ah Choon who sells one of the best mee yoke from his mobile tricycle.

My mum and her mahjong kakis would wait for him during lunch hour.

The sounds of tock, tock, tock make by clucking two pieces of bamboo with his hands was his signal.

The mee yoke was real authentic Penang style.

Later in the 70's, he graduated to a three wheelers motorcycle.

In the 80's he operated from a stall in Lin Seng Garden - we used to go for our

weekend breakfast and after a few years he left the scene.

I thought Choon Prawn Mee House was his but it was not !

The prawn mee served here is authentic but there is much chillies oil which can be quite
choking, the shrimps with it's tail intact is way too sweet and the soup is also sweet which
empowers the prawn broth.

At Rm6.50 a bowl-it's needs some tweaking.
