YE Traditional Dumplings

Duan Wu Jie (Rice Dumpling Festival) falls on the 5th day of the 5th month in the Chinese Lunar calendar i.e. 16/06/21010.
It is celebrated among the Chinese to pay respect to a patriotic poet Qu Yuan who sacrificed his life by jumping into the Puo Luo River.
Dumplings were then thrown into the river by fishermen to prevent the fishes from eating his body !

Nowadays, dumplings is sold throughout the year in restaurants, hawker center, street corners and wherever there are Chinese people.

YE Traditional Dumplings located in Pandan Jaya served many types of dumplings in their restaurant.

The choices are mouthwatering like dumplings with white rice, organic brown rice, abalone, Sambal dried shrimps, Nyonya style...etc
They even accept orders for special ingredients Dumplings i.e.- at a different price ??

Workers making the Dumplings.

Golden Chang-long rectangular, shaped like a pillow and bamboo leaves wrapped-white glutinous rice filled with Chinese sausage, dried oyster, pork belly, salted duck egg, sliced mushroom and dried chestnut-the glutinous rice was tight and firm and the ingredients were not too salty-enough for two persons-Rm8.80/

Sambal Dried Shrimps Chang-wrapped in a triangle shape by two bamboo leaves-the glutinous rice were a bit loose and the fillings of coarsely chopped dried shrimps with spicy and hot Sambal was heavenly !-Rm5.80/

Note:Hemp strings should be a better alternative to those plastic strings.

Love to eat these other than the fact they can be quite fattening! The Golden Chang-long looks more similar to what my area would serve, the shrimp I have never seen before!

I agree, hemp strings or any other string that is not plastic or metal would be better! More easy to take off plus more natural.
