Choong Kee (Kampar) Claypot Chicken Rice.

When my children are not having dinner at home, my wife and I usually eat out and we always opt for something simple and fulfilling.

Choong Kee (Kampar) Claypot Chicken Rice located in Damansara Jaya was the place for it.

But the wait was awful, almost close to 30 minutes.

Parking is OK.

Claypot chicken with an added fresh raw egg-rice was whole grain and not too oily-filled with lots of well marinated chicken meat-fragrant and I give it full marks!-Rm13.50

Double boiled Watercress soup-with pork ribs and red dates-refreshing and tasty-Rm5/

Choy sam far-Rm5/-blanched-overcooked with a dash of cheap looking and tasting oyster sauce and topped with deep fried shallots.
.

Location: 80, Jalan SS22/25,
Damansara Jaya,

Petaling Jaya.

Tel:017-871-7739 (Irene).

The price is good for a good meal of claypot! No wonder the shop is always crowded. Hence, I always end up next door, Cinta Ria for cafe food.

But my wife complained that she felt dry in her throat after drinking the soup. I guessed that they used MSG to enhance the flavour.
But I agree with you that the claypot chicken rice is good!! That is, if I don't have to wait for tables..

the wait kills ... don't bring impatient friends there or not there goes the makan adventure.

30 mins is oklah ... for claypot chicken rice, I feel.
If anything more than 30mins, then I'd think twice.
