Assorted shells dishes @ Backlane@Jalan Bunga Raya@Melaka.

Been wanting to eat here for a long, long time.

With the company of family members who loves to eat and game for anything nice and lots of free time to savor all the delicious food in our two day's trip to Melaka.

We reached there earlier to beat the maddening crowds.

Parked our cars in front of Madam King, along Jalan Bunga Raya and walked to the back lane for
this assorted sea shells dishes, tofu, ladyfinger, century eggs, rojak, grilled tofu/beancurd sheets and kangkung/cuttlefish...etc dinner.

Got ourselves seated on small wooden stools and rusty flat metal low slung tables.

Brought back memories of my younger days.

Be careful of motorcycles that whizzed along the lanes every now and then while you are eating !

The sea shell dishes was very fresh and sweet tasting and the dip sauce of sambal chillies belacan, shrimps paste, crushed peanut and squeezed lime was excellent.

ROJAK AND CENDOL-TMN BAHAGIA.

This is my mother's favorite place for Cendol but for Indian Rojak she prefers Hasan's stall in front of the SEA Park market.

Here, she can sit down and enjoy her meal under the canopy of shady trees with pigeons for

company and a great view of the Taman Bahagia LRT's trains plying up and down.

Cendol- Pandan flavored green bean flour noodle, kidney bean, light coconut milk and coarsely shaved ice which gives a crunchy bite-a great cool drink on a hot afternoon-Rm1.30/

Indian rojak made upon order is basically filled with crispy paper-thin prawn fritters, deep fried tofu, sliced grated coconut rolls, blanched beansprout, chopped cucumber, yam bean and served with a topping of spicy fragrant peanut sauce-a bit spicy on first bite, otherwise it was OK-Rm3.50/

A lot of friendly pigeons for company.

Location: A white mobile van, opposite the Taman Bahagia LRT station, Petaling Jaya.

ROJAK

Rojak it is basically a fruit and vegetable salad dish. Can be eaten any time of the day. Shown below is a simplified version and homemade. It consists of green cucumber, turnip, pineapple and dwarf ambarella, some add raw mango and young papaya too. Cut it into bite-size. The sauce is made of ground peanuts, shrimp paste, belacan, sugar, soya sauce and bird's eye chillies. Just dip into the sauce and eat: It tasted excellent and the fieriness of the chillies danced away on our palate!
