Mei Let Restaurant @Bandar Pinggiran Subang.
Many of the shops near and around this restaurant is closed on
Sunday evening.
The road leading to it can be dark and quite remote if you are not
not familiar with this area.
Business is brisk as their menu is varied and most of the diners looks
local and regulars.
They have air conditioned and smoking dining areas.
We ordered a house made silky smooth tofu with cloves of garlic
in a golden yellow sauce, steaming hot claypot pork belly with salted fish
- fragrant and tasty, black vinegar pork trotter, stir fried cauliflower
florets with oyster mushroom and fried squid with salted duck egg.
Overall a satisfying dinner with my family.
Parking is ample.

Restoran Nam Hing Loong @ Temoh.
Restoran Nam Hing Loong is an air conditioned restaurant located
along the Tapah - Kampar old trunk road.
Temoh is a desolated small town with two rows of dilapidated shop houses.
Famous for it's pao at a coffee shop (noon only) opposite of this restaurant.
The evening heavy down pour did not deter us from driving from Tapah
to meet our host Yeong Huey Ling and husband for this dinner gathering.
We were late because of the traffic and dinner was about to be served
when we arrived.
The dishes were so home cooked -no fancy plating - straight from the wok.
The stir fried Haruan fish slices with ginger and onion was a winner for me
and it's bones were made into a savory milky soup with julienned young ginger,
Chinese wine, herbs and dates.
Besides that the other dishes were-
Stir fried pacuk paku with salted egg,
Thai style pork knuckle with two types of sauces,
Steamed herbal free range chicken,
Claypot gelatinous water terrapin,
Steamed silky soft tofu with red chillies and minced pork and ended with Hokkien
fried mee -good wok hei.
A comforting meal with good friends and relatives.

Temoh, Perak.

Restoran Song Huang Ge@Laman Pesona.
Laman Pesona is a well planned resort- for the owner it is more like a retreat
to spend the weekends with his family and also with guests paying for the steep and winding road
to their chalets built on a sloping hill of a former durian orchard.

| View from our balcony. |
Access to the chalets are by two 4x4 vehicles or by foot for those who
are more adventurous and physically strong.
There are two restaurants (Thai food and Chinese cuisine) and they are open
to the public.
We had an early dinner at the 4 stars Restoran Song Huang Ge and was impressed
with the food served.

Assorted shells dishes @ Backlane@Jalan Bunga Raya@Melaka.
Been wanting to eat here for a long, long time.
With the company of family members who loves to eat and game for anything nice and lots of free time to savor all the delicious food in our two day's trip to Melaka.
We reached there earlier to beat the maddening crowds.
Parked our cars in front of Madam King, along Jalan Bunga Raya and walked to the back lane for
this assorted sea shells dishes, tofu, ladyfinger, century eggs, rojak, grilled tofu/beancurd sheets and kangkung/cuttlefish...etc dinner.
Got ourselves seated on small wooden stools and rusty flat metal low slung tables.
Brought back memories of my younger days.
Be careful of motorcycles that whizzed along the lanes every now and then while you are eating !
The sea shell dishes was very fresh and sweet tasting and the dip sauce of sambal chillies belacan, shrimps paste, crushed peanut and squeezed lime was excellent.

Restoran Atlantic 1 (Nyonya Food)@Melaka.
Three men i.e. my two colleague and me drove down to Melaka city for business and pineapple tarts.
We met up with our friend Ong whose office is just a stone throwaway from a famous pork satay restaurant in Kampung Hulu.
After we had done with our business, Ong took us to buy pastries and pineapple tarts, fresh from the oven.
Then a quick tour of the rural areas of Pulau Gadong, Klebang, across the reclaimed sea areas and back to town (Jonker Street) and Kampong Hulu for lunch at Restoran Atlantic 1 (Nyonya Food )
Their tagline-Nyonya Baba Food-Authentic Peranakan Cuisine at it's best aptly described their food.

Restoran Wan Loy@Sg Buluh.
Restoran Wan Loy is nestled among some big factories along the main road in Kg Matang Pagar, Sg Buluh.
From the front it looks just like an ordinary Chinese eatery with an air conditioned dining area at the rear of the restaurant.
Can be quite a noisy place if the restaurant is filled to the brim.
Their menu is quite varied and cater to any age group.
Prices are reasonable and the food are OK.
Parking is OK.

Pantai Seafood Restaurant.
Guest post by Michelle.
I have not be feeling too well for the past two days. a bit of sore throat, a running nose and a thumping headache.
The doctor prescribed me some medicines which made me more drowsy, resulted in a loss of appetite.
Tonight "part recovery" dinner @ Pantai Seafood Restaurant was with my family.
We ordered food that could prep up my appetite instead of live seafood or crustaceans.
The restaurant was rather quiet on a Monday evening (maybe we were early).
Service was good and attentive.
Parking is ample.

Restoran Tonny @ Tapah.
Another quick, simple and delicious meal at Restoran Tonny.
Located opposite of a BP station before the Polis station in Tapah, Perak.
It's a small close knit family restaurant with limited seating.
The elder siblings Mun Mun aka Lady Gaga was quick to take our orders while the others help in the kitchen and multi-task..
All the dishes came piping hot with lots of "wok hei."

YE Traditional Dumplings.
Besides the traditional dumplings which are available all year round, YE Traditional Dumplings located in Pandan Jaya also served quite a varieties of Hakka dishes, too.
Last Saturday my buddies and I went there for lunch and were impressed with what they served but it was a bit pricey.
The colorful menu was a great help for us to do the food selection.
