Restoran Ping Wah is a small eatery located in Paramount Garden, Petaling Jaya that served good, simple home style Hainanese food.

The young owner Joe Hoo is a family friend of my Singaporean relatives.
Before taking over Restoran Ping Wah, Joe was running another restaurant named Oh La La in Kuchai Lama.

These dishes were Joe's selections for us.

Parking is ample.

Braised lean pork strips with thinly sliced potatoes-a tad too sweet- would have like it more if the potatoes are cut into wedges.

Deep fried Ma Yau (Threadfin) bathed in good grade Soy sauce and garnished with deep fried ginger was a delight-crispy and moist inside.

Braised Pig's tendons with pineapple, preserved Soy bean and spring onion-tangy taste and the tendon was crunchy.

Hainanese fried egg-his dad's recipe-the egg white are fried and stirred until it was fluffy-topped it with raw egg yolk and finely chopped Chai Poh (preserved Radish)-outstanding!

Deep fried Squid rings-lightly batter, chewy but was not crunchy.

Stir fried young sweet potato shoots-tender and smooth.

Another of Joe's father recipe-sambal salted fish-way too saltish but goes well with rice.

Total bill:Rm92/
Location:31, Jalan 20/16,
Paramount Garden (beside Giant)
Petaling Jaya.

The braised pork with potato was ok, but the Hainanese fried egg was so salty!
we tried the red wine chic, a veg & squids. Overall ok.
Joe is very friendly tho.

This is the place for good home cook dishes! I use to go to this place when I was working. I like all their dishes! Oh yes, I remember that braised pork with potato is a must have :-D I also like to order their fried fish as it is difficult to fry at home he he...

interesting egg dish, almost like scrambled eggs.
This is the type of place that's in danger of extinction.

thenomadGourmand-ours was ok and hope Joe is reading this so that he can tweak the saltiness in his dishes.
