ROOM EIGHTEEN.

We had our Sunday lunch at the newly opened Room Eighteen at Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya.
The setting was contemporary, high ceiling, bright and spacious with the main kitchen at the front (left hand side) of the restaurant.
The servers were mostly young punks barely knowledgeable about the food on the menu.
Service were acceptable, quickly attended to, on beckoning them.
The food served are more Chinese fusion, leaning towards Hong Kong style.

The kitchen at the far end.

Nice Utensils.

Braised Beef noodles- generous amount of tender sliced beef and the noodle was springy too-Rm14.80/.

Seafood Congee-Porridge was ultra smooth and translucent with no rice residue, served with scissor cut Cruller, finely sliced Ginger, Spring Onion, strips of Chicken, Lettuce and roasted Peanuts-a real comfort dish!-Rm11.80/

Braised Seafood Mixed Noodle-served with blanched Choy Sam surrounding the plate, 2 small Prawns (cut into 1/2), flower cut Squid and tiny pieces of sliced Fish-luckily the noodle was springy with tastefully tossed sauce or else!!-Rm16.80

BEEF NOODLES (RESTAURANT YANG MOOI)

We did not patronized this place for lunch for about six months, due to time constraints. They specialized in dry and soup noodles only. The quality of their noodles remained consistent and it's unique flavors made it worthwhile to drive all the way to Pandan Indah to have lunch. We ordered 2 bowls of pork noodles and a bowl of beef tripe noodles. The noodles were springy and filled with generous portions of coarsely chopped minced pork with dark soya sauce and some choy sam. The soup was clear and tasty, the pork balls was bouncy and meaty but the beef tripe was not like what we ate the last time. The chillies dip was good and we gave it top marks. Their signature dish of stewed mixed beef was not available, only on Wednesday. Saturday and Sunday, we will go back on the correct days. We rounded off our meal with herbal tea.

It is located at 5G, Jln Perubatan 4, Pandan Indah (opposite the Pandan Indah police station)
