After a weekend of sumptuous food, we need to "de-tox" or when we are not felling well, eating porridge is the answer.

Eating porridge in a group is so appetizing and fun.

More dishes are ordered and  everyone get to eat a bit of everything.

Fried Cai Poh (preserved salted radish) with egg- finely chopped - well fried-Rm4/

RESTORAN SANG KEE-PORK BALLS NOODLE.

Restoran Sang Kee in the Pandan Jaya Commercial Center, Cheras is famous for it's Pork balls noodle or Sekinchan Pork balls noodle.

It is a corner shop prominently located along the main road of
Pandan Jaya, Cheras and next to a SenHeng Electrical store.

This stall is well known for their Pork balls noodle from the time when they first started business at a coffeeshop in State New Town Center, Petaling Jaya (at the present Public Bank site) till now!

We went there to have our breakfast of Pork balls noodle (Rice Vermicelli) with extra toppings of deep fried pig's big Intestines which are only available on weekends!

Parking is OK on weekends.

The front of the shop (side of the shop faces a famous landmark tropical fruits cum durian Stall)

RESTORAN MAKANAN TEOW CHEW.

For the past week, the whole of Klang Valley especially Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya was like a big chimney-smoky and stuffy.

(The Twin Towers covered with smoke and haze.)

With the hot weather's temperature at around 32 C.

It's porridge time
!- a good remedy to keep our body "cool" !

Restoran Makanan Teow Chew located on the ground
floor of a block of 4 storey walk up flats in Taman Desa Aman, Cheras was the answer.

Besides plain white whole grain rice hot porridge with dainty side dishes they also served delicious Claypot Chicken rice.

The place is low ceilinged with many ceiling and wall fans to keep it's customers cool.
The wall are tastefully decorated with poster, framed newspaper clips and photos of famous people.
Marble top tables and sturdy wooden chairs adorned the dining area.

Orders were quickly taken on hand held PDAs-fast and efficient.

BEEF NOODLES (RESTAURANT YANG MOOI)

We did not patronized this place for lunch for about six months, due to time constraints. They specialized in dry and soup noodles only. The quality of their noodles remained consistent and it's unique flavors made it worthwhile to drive all the way to Pandan Indah to have lunch. We ordered 2 bowls of pork noodles and a bowl of beef tripe noodles. The noodles were springy and filled with generous portions of coarsely chopped minced pork with dark soya sauce and some choy sam. The soup was clear and tasty, the pork balls was bouncy and meaty but the beef tripe was not like what we ate the last time. The chillies dip was good and we gave it top marks. Their signature dish of stewed mixed beef was not available, only on Wednesday. Saturday and Sunday, we will go back on the correct days. We rounded off our meal with herbal tea.

It is located at 5G, Jln Perubatan 4, Pandan Indah (opposite the Pandan Indah police station)
