Company Dinner@Restoran Lucky Sin

We celebrated our company's 62nd years dinner @Restoran Lucky Sin, a small
family run restaurant.

A nice, simple and fully air cond place to meet and have a cheap and reasonable al carte lunch/dinner.

Posters of delicious and top range dishes on the wall at gimmicky cheap prices to draw in the crowds.

Our nine tables-eight courses dinner@Rm1300/table is comparable to some top restaurants in town.

Parking in the evening is OK.

Four Seasons combination platter- salad prawn, deep fried frogs legs/sliced ginger, scallop and fish paste stuffed sea cucumber.

Fatt Tiew Cheong ( Buddha jumps over the wall) - served with abalone, Shiitake mushroom, scallop, fish maw, black chicken- a herbal soup that takes hours to brew-simply nutritious and aromatic.

Steamed Mandarin Kwai Fah fish-spread with good grade soy sauce-perfectly cooked-fleshy and fresh-garnished with chopped coriander leaves

Steamed horse grass fed free range chicken -lean, muscled and fragrant-blended young ginger for dip.

Braised Chinese long cabbage-topped with dried scallop in a flavorful secret sauce gravy.

Hot and spicy crabs (ala Fatty Crab) in a red hot chillies/tomato egg gravy-with deep fried mantou to lap up the  gravy.

Fried Sang Mee with generously sized sea prawns and choy sam in a white egg gravy.

Hau Kee Seafood Restaurant@ Cheras.

Our targeted restaurant was not open, Hau Kee Seafood Restaurant  was another good option.

Mobile push carts that served hawkers fare lined both sides of the road leading out of it.

Parking is horrible-double and triple parking.

But the good food make up for it.

Steamed Village chicken in a steel basin reinforced by a wooden bucket (seen a lot of these utensil in China)-the chicken was tender and full of herbal flavor and the juices goes well with the fried rice.

KEDAI MAKANAN LAUT HAI UNG.

We have two days of fun, frolicking in three types of man made pool-
1:hot spring water.
2:mountain spring water.
3.jacuzzi in the villa.

Cooking eggs (the middle tray is ours) with the hot spring water-10 minutes for hard boiled eggs.

Eggs cooking mission accomplished-a photo for remembrance!

......and a one night's stay at this villa in the Taman Rekrearasi Ayer Panas, Sg Klah, Sungkai, Perak.

On the return journey back to Petaling Jaya, we opted to drive along the coastal trunk road with a stop at Pasir Palembang for an early dinner.

Kedai Makanan Laut Hai Ung is located at the back of a brand new wet market in Bagan Sungai Yu, Pasir Palembang, Kuala Selangor.

On both sides of the restaurant are shops selling fresh and dry seafood and the ever popular keropok (prawn crackers)

Parking is a breeze.

The restaurant's front with it's wooden plank flooring dining area extended out by the side of the river.

A view of the river from where we were seated.

Watching the fishing boat with their haul of live prawns and fishes.

Sweet and sour crabs (2kg)-well cooked and flavored and the mud crab meat was fresh, sweet and fine in texture-Rm70/ we scooped up every inch of the gravy with the deep fried Mantou bread-Rm10/

Or Chien (oyster omelette) served on a piping hot galvanised plate with raw eggs and then stir cooked in front of us-oyster were fresh, creamy and generously sized-Rm16/

RESTORAN KING CRAB.

At one time, Restoran King Crab was on our must eat list......then the long queue for tables started, lack of parking spaces and the standard of their food quality deteriorated.

Tonight after a number of months, we went back there for dinner and alas! the hungry crowds are no longer there-most of staff are newbies and there were only a few odd tables of diners.

We ordered the usual fare and surprisingly there were some marked improvement.

Parking is OK after 7 pm.

Crispy Chicken- the chicken was deboned and it's meat spread with a thick layer of fish paste before it is deep fry-very crispy skin but the fish paste was way too firm-the garlicky chillies sauce was a good dip-Rm30/

Stir fried Brinjal with well marinated minced Pork, finely chopped red Chillies, Lard and salted fish-a bit salty but very aromatic-perfect with rice-Rm18/

Polo Pork ribs-lightly batter meaty Pork ribs-deep fried and tossed with sliced Pineapple and red Chillies-hint of Lemon sauce-Rm20/

Tofu-braised with Fish paste, Beancurd sheets, gluten puffs and thick stem Chicken Mustard-a well balanced dish to suit everyone tastebuds-Rm18/

Butter Crabs (1kg +) cooked in a Clay pot which retained all of it's aroma- the thick creamy butter flavored crabs gravy was a good dip for the steamed Mantou (Rm3/)-crab meat was fresh and meaty-Rm43/.

Total bill:Rm180/
