Soon Hock-Marble Goby.

Soon Hock a.k.a. Marble Goby (Oxyeleotis marmorata) is a slow, quiet and sluggish fresh water fish.

It spend most it's time half buried at the shallow end of brackish fresh water ponds or waterways to wait for it's prey.

A very elusive fish for even the real seasoned anglers !

A much sought and expensive fish in most Chinese restaurants and costs between Rm100-Rm250/kg.

I like the Soon Hock fish for it's smooth, sweet, flaky and fine texture flesh.

One of the best and tastiest fresh water fish.
