Sin Choi Wah Restoran.

The end of the year i.e. December is always a happening month.

Endless sales, Christmas, Boxing Day, ushering of the New Year and my wife's birthday.

This year we had a small family dinner at Sin Choi Wah Restoran-a huge, majestic and resplendent restaurant which I fell in love after a fabulous wedding dinner hosted by my cousin-the food served were good.

To my dear wife-I would like to wish her a very Happy Birthday and Dear, you are always my sunshine after the rain !

Claypot Seafood filled with thick good grade sea cucumber, fish maw, well braised Shittake mushroom, Bok choy and briny Clams - a hot pot of  nutritious goodies.
Baby French beans stir fried with crisp dried cuttlefish flakes, pickled radish and tau kua (deep fried beancurd)- crunchy and refreshing .
Pork ribs marinated with a sweet and fruity sauce- well caramelized, meaty and flavorful.
Scallop with blanched Broccoli, strips of pineapple and carrot -wish there were more scallop on the dish !
Steamed sliced Loong Tan fish meat in a good grade light soy sauce/peanut oil - garnished with finely sliced ginger and coriander leaves- meat was a bit coarse with collagen filled skin.

Restoran Hai Thian.

One of my staff raves about the tasteful food dished out by Restoran Hai Thian, a 10 shoplots restaurant in Bandar Putra Permai.

Restoran Hai Thian was formerly located in Seri Kembangan just in front of Pasaraya Grand Union.

Yesterday, we went there for dinner and the exterior of the longish 10 shoplots restaurant was a sight to behold.
The interior was tasteful decorated and service was attentive and efficient.

As for the food I feel that their chefs are a bit highhanded on the salt content of most of their dishes.

Parking is OK.

Main entrance of this 10 shoplots restaurant.

A 360' photo of the 12 of us.

Salted egg Prawn-the big sized sea prawns were juicy and succulent with the salted egg lending a gorgeous flavor to it.

Deep fried Tilapia fish-crispy on the outside with fresh and tender flesh and the soy sauce was of good grade.

Tofu braised with peanuts-smooth and silky deep fried Tofu with the well braised generously sized peanut was perfect.

Garlic pork ribs-well marinated, meaty and the chopped garlic complemented it.

Baby French bean stir fried with Mui choy-the preserved salty Mui Choy added more flavor and crunchiness to the dish.

Pak Cham Kai-poached free range chicken-meat was way TOO tough must be an old aged chicken.

Brinjal stir fried with minced meat-nicely julienne but a bit on the salty side.

Watermelon and Jelly-complimentary.

Restoran Foon Lock-2 Visit..

After a satisfying and delicious meal at Restoran Foon Lock, on our first visit in September, we decided on a revisit with a group of friends to sample their food again.

The 45 minutes drive on the highway was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon.

We were looking forward to wild frogs,
there were none because of the rainy season !!

Luckily, fresh river prawns and Ikan Tapah were available.

After the lunch, we bought fruits like duku langsat, pulasan, mangosteen and the famous Bentong ginger from two stalls outside the restaurant.

Parking is available in front and at the back of the restaurant.

The shop front.

Steamed Lim Yee (Ikan Tapah) (700 gm) with good grade soy sauce and garnished with chopped ginger and cilantro-meat was smooth and fine textured-RM49/.

Stir fried Kwai Tau Mui (baby long bean) with deep fried shrimp-fresh, delicate and crunchy-Rm9/.

Stir fried fresh farmed mushroom with fish paste, sweet tasting pea bean and sliced carrot-a well balanced dish-Rm15/.

Drunken Chicken with sliced ginger-the free range chicken meat was firm and muscled but the wine broth was too diluted-"no kick"-Rm18/

Steamed river prawn (1.6 kg) with egg white, Chinese wine, and garnished with toothpick ginger and sprigs of cilantro-was fresh, juicy and succulent except for one which was "suspect"-Rm104/.

Hokkien fried Tung Hoon (mung bean noddle) was simple with some egg, beansprout and strips of chicken meat-mediocre-Rm9/.

Fruits Galore.

Mangosteens.

Red and yellow bananas.

Pulasan.

Duku langsat.
