MOON CAKE FESTIVAL

Moon Cake Festival or Mid Autumn Festival or Lantern Festival is all the same. it is a celebration of abundance and togetherness. it fall on the 15 day of the 8 lunar month of the Chinese calendar. it is on September 14 2008. the moon will be full and bright on that night. we will eat moon cakes, pomelo, groundnuts and drink chinese tea while the children will be playing with fire and lighting candles and lanterns. nowadays the mooncakes comes in many flavors-green tea, black sesame seed with salted duck egg yolk, snow skin, assorted fruits nuts and chicken bits, pu er lotus paste.......etc for me i like the home made ones, no preservatives.
