Mei Let Restaurant @Bandar Pinggiran Subang.
Many of the shops near and around this restaurant is closed on
Sunday evening.
The road leading to it can be dark and quite remote if you are not
not familiar with this area.
Business is brisk as their menu is varied and most of the diners looks
local and regulars.
They have air conditioned and smoking dining areas.
We ordered a house made silky smooth tofu with cloves of garlic
in a golden yellow sauce, steaming hot claypot pork belly with salted fish
- fragrant and tasty, black vinegar pork trotter, stir fried cauliflower
florets with oyster mushroom and fried squid with salted duck egg.
Overall a satisfying dinner with my family.
Parking is ample.

Red Lips Kueh Pie Tee Cups with fillings.
My mother is a Peranakan from Melaka, and she is a fabulous cook and we get to eat a lot of authentic Nyonya's dishes.
Kueh Pie Tee is one of them and it has been a favorite Peranakan delicacy for decades.
I remembered my mother used to make the kueh pie tee cups herself but not now !.
Now it is widely available in most supermarket-Red Lips Kueh Pie Tee Cups@S11/for 50 pieces, is one of the best around.
The Pie Tee cup is extremely fresh, crunchy and taste like an ice cream cone.
It is best to savor it with your favorite fillings.
Mine is shredded cooked yam bean, carrot, mushroom, shrimp and cuttle fish in a dark and light soy sauce-filled it up in a Pie Tee cup and topped with a spicy home made chillies/vinegar sauce.

Makanan Laut Loong Sing@ Bukit Tinggi.
Our annual "pilgrimage" of a dinner and overnight stay at the rainy, cool and foggy Genting Highlands Resort, Pahang was rejuvenating !
But then every good things must come to an end.
Came early Sunday afternoon, it was time to leave those money sucking Slot machines, Baccarat, Roulette, Scibo games all behind.
We headed downhill eastward to Makanan Laut Loong Sing in Bukit Tinggi village for our late lunch.
We were lucky because Mindy's favorite wild frogs were available.
Parking is ample.
Total bill: Rm245.

Restaurant Extra Super Tanker (PJ) Sdn Bhd.
Restaurant Extra Super Tanker's name is soooo unique.
The restaurant got a new makeover from the last time we were there-expanded to three shoplots with a stage and modern interior designs.
There is a wait staff at the front door to welcome guests.
For this dinner we ordered dishes that we have not tasted before.
Parking is OK.

Crabmeat Omelette-filled with beansprout, pine nut and deep fried shrimp-eat it with a piece of fresh lettuce-Rm56/.
Claypot Fu yee (fermented Chillies bean) Chicken-seated on a bunch of Poh Choy (English Spinach)-very generously sized and chicken meat was flavorsome but too salty for my taste-Rm60/.
Steamed Golden Promfret (was swimming in the aquarium a awhile ago) with superior grade soy sauce and garnished with spring onion and coriander leaves-the meat was fresh and smooth-Rm60/.
Braised sea cucumber with Mushroom (the sliced Abalone were added on by us) served with blanched broccoli-the mushroom was of low grade while the sea cucumber was passable-our own abalone saved this dish!-Rm100/

RESTORAN FOON LOCK-BUKIT TINGGI, BENTONG
After the late 8 course dinner and more entertainment in Genting Highland, we overslept and missed our buffet breakfast.
On our way back to KL, we stopped by Gohtong Jaya to visit a strawberry and mushroom farm.

Then we drove eastward to Kg Bukit Tinggi, Bentong for our lunch.
There were quite a number of restaurants to choose from and we settled for Restoran Foon Lock as it was packed with people (a sure sign of good food).
A pretty lass took our order and within twenty minutes all the food were served.
Claypot Tilapia-came in a huge claypot but filled with a small fish (700g) the fish was very fresh and sat on a gravy of good grade Soy sauce, onion and sliced Bentong ginger-Rm18/.
Stir fried fresh moist and earthy mushrooms with diced garlic, sweet peas, ginger and carrot-delicious!-Rm12/
Total bill:Rm80/
Location:84, Kg Bukit Tinggi,
Bentong, Pahang.

COMPANY ANNUAL BUFFET DINNER
My company annual dinner are usually Eight course dinner affair, held at restaurant. This year's dinner was a bit low key, because of cost cutting. Tonight, buffet style dinner was held at our office cum warehouse, with the food catering done by WYK Catering Services at Rm32/person. For this dinner, we invited about 120 people plus guests, staff and our families. The food served was tasty, fresh and delicious and the guests had a nice time, with every one going for second round. There were 13 types of food and sweet desserts to sample plus the usual fried rice and fried vermicelli Siam style. For drinks we have free flowing beer, Coke, Sprite, Orange juice, mineral water and Chinese tea. Overall this dinner was a success and every one went home with a full stomach!
Shark fin soup with crab meat-never expected to be serve this dish for buffet but was done just nice-would have tasted better with some black vinegar.
Vegetarian Abalone, mushroom-with lots of broccoli florets-the only green to balance off all the meat..
Superior braised sea treasure-with lots of soft and smooth shitake mushroom and and low quality sea cucumber.
Yellow tapioca cake-was firm and coconut flavored and jelly cake was gelatin like and not too sweet.
Beef and chicken satay-was everyone's favorite- well marinated and smokey, turmeric flavored-was a side order at 60cts/sticks.
