BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP CO.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co is a chain of seafood restaurants inspired by the 1994 film, "Forrest Gump."
Recently, we had a double celebration dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co located in The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.
First it was my birthday and secondly it was my daughter Mindy's 2nd wedding anniversary.

When we arrived, the place was full but we managed to get a table near a quiet corridor with a good view and lovely music provided by a live band from the Hotel Royale Bintang next to it.
Their main dishes are mostly Shrimp done in quite a number of styles plus Salad, Chicken and Fish too.
I think i will abstain from eating shrimp for sometime as most of the dishes that we ordered were shrimps based.
I declined their offer of performing a Birthday song for me.
Instead, the quick and alert server presented me with a cup of smooth and sourish Yogurt ice cream to end my delicious dinner!

View from outside.

The quiet corridor where we were seated.

The bar.

Waiting for the food to be serve.

Pail containing Kitchen Roll, Tomato Ketchup, Tobacso sauce, Chillies sauce, Worcester sauce and a Tong.

Caesar Salad-crisp Romaine tossed with a classic Caesar dressing with grated Pramesan and Croutons-a healthy appetizer.

Crispy Garlic Bread with a spread of Butter served on a piece of printed "newspaper".

Run Across America Sampler-Bubba's Far Out Dip Chips, Chilly Shrimp, Spicy Chicken strips, Hush Pups, Mama Blues Fried Shrimp-a lip smacking snack and light meal all in one big incredible platter.

Bubba's Far's out Dip-Spinach roasted Red Pepper, Artichokes and Monterey Cheese with homemade Tortilla Chips with tender shrimps-another good snack.

Mama's Southern fried chicken-the boneless chicken breast was crispy and a bit salty, fresh sweet golden Corn, mashed Potatoes with gravy-delicious to the bone!

Mama's blue's Southern charmed fried shrimp-with lots of crispy fries and cocktail sauce for dipping-juicy shrimps-a good snack-it's goes well with a mug of cold Beer.

Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth-lots of shrimp cooked in Jasmine rice and french bread for dipping-the bread was crusty and soft inside-easy eating when dip into the heavy, spicy taste broth.

Bourbon Street Barramundi-grilled Fish, peeled Prawns, Tortilla strips, mashed Potatoes, sauce-served with flair and style presentation-an interplay of textures and flavors..

Fishwich-charboiled Fish sandwiched with Louisiana Special sauce and pepper Jack Cheese-the fish was dry but the greens and fries made it a balance meal .

Cajun Shrimp-Shrimp sautéed in our hot and spicy Cajun butter sauce that you can soup up with a helping of garlic bread-a good dish that will appease many.

Chocalate Cookie Sundae-A warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookie topped with Vanilla ice cream, Caramel, Chocolate, Peanuts and whipped cream-sweet with assorted flavors.

Mindy digging into another sweet temptation- delicious Strawberry shortcake.

Mango Lemon Splash-Rm10.90/

Yogurt ice cream for the birthday boy? (man)-to make the moment memorable!

(Thanks to Sam)
Total bill:Rm400/

Heard about this restaurant, love the movie a lot, even pass by it a few times but yet haven't get the chance to try it out. Didn't know they serve food on "newspaper", their presentation is so special!

Hope to visit this place when we have the chance.

Happy belated birthday! The food looks great and wonderfully presented. I like the idea of the "newspaper"- I've seen it also used sometimes in gift packs.

The yogurt ice cream looks really good with the nice piping. I wish I could have one of those sampler plates. Haven't had those in a long time!

the food looks nice and very western style, I though you went to Australia or Europe dee. Anyway the price also very western like, all for RM400, that will cost me one day of public holiday OT.

I didn't know they had this in Malaysia, too! I've never visited before, though...kind of surprised to see them more upscale than I expected!

This must be a new restaurant because you didn't mention it to me last August. The dishes look mouth-watering good! Let's go there next year.
