RESTORAN THONG KEE.

Tonight dinner at Restoran Thong Kee was a long time coming. It had been quite some time since we last dine there. This family oriented restaurant was just the right place to have a nice and quiet dinner. Restoran Thong Kee is an old, established name, way back to their SS2 days at the present RHB Bank. Before they were famous for their well marinated and tasty full length roast pork ribs. This neighborhood corner restaurant is located next to the famous Sunrise's Roast duck shop, is clean and airy with striking bright yellow tablecloth top tables and faded shellac coloured chairs. The friendly and warm smiling waitress recommended the chef's special for the night. Parking is ample after 6 pm.

Clay pot 3 Cup Chicken-was not what i expected-chicken meat was tender and curry leaves flavored ? (expected Basil leaves)-gravy too diluted-rm20/

Pig Trotter-was deep fried (slightly dry)-skin was crusty and meat was dry in texture-the sweet and sour chillies plum sauce (below) saved the dish from disaster-rm30/.

The Sauce.

Choy Sam (Hong Kong)-was thick, green and leafy -rm15/.

Steamed Grass Carp (1.5kg)-with blended salted ginger-was fresh and full of glistening white and sweet flesh-best of the night-rm52/.

Toufu with minced meat-thick and sticky gravy- goes well with the piping hot white rice- rm15/.

Long Bean (Snake bean) with strips of lean pork and stir fry with aromatic prawn sauce- really special with a distinct flavor-rm15/.

Total bill:rm167/.
Location:33, Jalan 21/1, SEA Park,
Petaling Jaya.

I've missed looking at your blog. I haven't been cooking much lately and when I don't cook, I don't use this blog, and then I fall behind on all the other blog cooks that I like to follow.

Your blog always makes me hungry!
