Good Friend is one of the many F&B outlets in Genting Highland, Pahang which we like to patronized. Their menu are quite extensive and varied from Dim Sum, Western food to typical Chinese cuisine.
We had a light lunch as tonight there will be an eight course dinner at The Genting International Convention Center Ballroom. After the meal we had a short fling at the numerous money gobbling Slot machines in the casino.
We were lucky to have won some money, as Lady Luck was on our side.
A plate of crispy 3 layer roast Pork belly and well marinated meaty Char Siew served with some pickled vegetable-Rm30/.
Clay pot white Bean curd with Fish maw-the tasty thick gravy was perfect with rice-Rm13.30/.
Stir fried Kai Lan with salted fish, some red Chillies and diced big onion-was a bit salty but very appetizing-Rm13.30.
For our Sunday afternoon tea time, my wife made some "finger food" for snack out of a can of Waitrose Sardine Piccanti and half a French baguette with some red Cherry tomatoes and a big onion.
Waltrose Sardine Piccanti (120g) is Sardine fillets in Olive oil (27%) with hot Chilli, Sea Salt and Pepper-Rm9/
French Baguette-cut into 1 inch thick slices and oven toasted for awhile for crispiness-Rm1.50/
Separate the sardine fillet into halves.
Coarsely diced one big Onion and six red Cherry Tomatoes.
Placed the diced Onion and red Cherry Tomatoes on the toasted baguette-topped it with a piece of Sardine and drizzled with the Olive oil from the can.
The boneless Sardine meat was flaky and firm, just a wee bit spicy and together with those diced piquant red Cherry Tomatoes, pungent Onion and healthy Olive oil, it was a terrific and nutritious snack!
My friend Steven raved about the delicious food he had with his family at Restoran 88 located in Continental Park, off Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur.
Restoran 88 is perched on a side of a deep valley and camouflaged with fruit trees on it's perimeter side. They dished out all types of classic Cantonese cuisine.
p/s-Part of it's cement flooring is a bit uneven with some very visible crack which from my point of view is dangerous and may cause some movement of the earth especially during the rainy season.
Anyway the delicious food allayed all of our fear.
Parking is a breeze.
