DELICIOUS DINNER 30.

A series of home cooked dinner by my wife.

Her signature Tofu-with diced carrot, finely chopped Parsley, cereal and some fish paste-full of protein and very nutritious.

Deep fried Pork ribs-well marinated with Nam Yee (preserved beancurd), pepper, sesame oil, egg and a sprinkling of sugar-lightly battered with Tapioca flour-crispy, fragrant and meaty.

Pan fried sliced Brinjal (Egg plant)-so that it would not be too oily, topped with minced dried shrimp, pork and sambal belacan chillies-best with rice!

LIEW KEE (AH LEK) CHEE CHEONG FUN-TELUK INTAN.

After a light seafood dinner at Restoran Nagaria in Teluk Intan, we visited my sil Yoke, whose house is just next door to the famous landmark Liew Kee (Ah Lek) Chee Cheong Fun (fat rice noodles in the form of sheets-rolled up and cut in bite size pieces).

It was about 9 pm on a hot humid Saturday night and already there was a long queue waiting to buy their specialty CCF for takeaway.

My Sil, Yoke as a neighbor was given first preference and she bought 5 packets (Rm3/each) of CCF cooked in 2 variants for us.

The process of making the CCF takes less than a minute- a thin layer of the milky white rice flour mixture and the various ingredients were poured into an Aluminium tray-then it was placed into a conveyor driven hot steamer - when it comes out at the other end - it's cooked!

This CCF tasted better-the skin was white, smooth, not too oily and covered with sweet Turnip, deep fried aromatic Shallots and crispy deep fried dried Shrimps.

While this CCF was plain, a bit salty and the rice noodle sheets were covered with deep fried crispy dried Shrimps and chopped fragrant Spring onion only.
