Restoran Three Brothers is nestled among factories and shop houses off the main Sungei Buluh - Subang road.
The most recognizable place from the main road is Star Avenue or a KFC 500th restaurant.
A hidden gem as some people called them - they serve Chinese cuisine with some fusion styles with fresh and quality seafood...etc.
We drove here from PJ to have our lunch, scanned through the menu and decided to have something light and comforting.
First -Fresh Australian oysters as big as our palm - add a squeeze of lemon to flavor it - so creamy, briny and fresh tasting.
Then - Scrambled eggs with crab meat, it was rather dry but good wei - wrapped in fresh lettuce with some house made red chillies sauce to fully savored bite after bite.
We ended the meal with the potent claypot free range chicken in rice wine. You get the "high heaty feel" and red face after a couple of minutes of slurping the gingery soup.
Restoran Xfrens is one of the few good Chinese restaurants around Subang Jaya.
In the evening, whenever we passed this place via the flyover, it's always full of people. Is it a sign of good food ?
Curiosity, took us here on a Sunday evening, even after peak hours the place is still streaming with diners.
On securing a table, a waitress was on standby (super efficient) to take our order.
A pot of Pu er tea was ordered first while we considered the waitress food recommendations, there was so much choices to choose. we finally settled for three dishes. A savory, sourish Assam curry Grouper fish (very fresh) with assorted vegetables. Next a rack of pork ribs with a tangy brown sauce - well marinated, tender and meaty. And in house made savory tofu doused with a thick creamy pumpkin sauce and curry leaves. Service is quick, prices a bit expensive but they used good quality ingredients. Be prepared to seated along corridor and five foot way as the restaurant has limited seating.
Location: 51, Jalan SS18/1B, SS 18, 47500, Subang Jaya.
Craving for salted roast duck, takeaway from Sze Ngan Chai roast duck, an iconic stall just at the intersection of Petaling Street (Chinatown).
With a mobile glass container filled with stacks of roast ducks, ngap keok pao, a thick wooden chopping block and sharp cleaver they are ready for business.
Business is brisk- open as early as 6 am.
Their roast duck are salted, meaty, crisp skin and succulent. For those (like me) who do not know how to chop up the duck - they will do it for free.
