Here the weather is windy and the atmosphere seems to be much fresher.
If you love seafood - the west and east coasts of Johor is the paradise !
My bil Anthony and Kam treated us to a sumptuous seafood dinner in Restoran SPOA located off an uneven gravel road, a kilometer after The Tanjung Puteri Golf and Resort,Pasir Gudang.
The restaurant is built on stilts with a creaking plank floor extended out to the sea facing Pulau Ubin, Singapore.
Live fishes and crustaceans can be chosen from the many aquariums or straight out off floating cages by the sea.
The sounds of roaring waves beating along the bank made by speeding boats was delight to hear.
Garoupa -steamed to perfection seated on good grade soy sauce/peanut oil and garnished with spring onion-fresh, fleshy, sweet and flaky. |
Clay pot seafood Japanese tofu-the gravy was best with white rice-children favorite. |
Buttered Mini lobster (14 pieces)-fragrant, fleshy, sweet, a bit coarse with head full of roe. |
Deep fried squid lightly batter with oats-crunchy and chewy. |
Stir fried sweet potato leaves with chopped garlic-the only green of the night. |
Yong Chow fried rice-with anchovies, shrimp, sliced fish cake and egg-fragrant and fluffy. |
Black pepper crabs-was not meaty maybe because it was the first day of the Lunar month. |
