RESTORAN WENG KEE.

Restoran Weng Kee was formerly known as Restoran Greenvalle, situated in Jalan Radin Tengah, the restaurant's row of Seri Petaling.

You will not miss it as the restaurant signboard is bright green in color and KFC is their next door neighbour.

This place is run by Mr Ng a designer with a thriving interior decorator business masquerading as a restaurateur with the help of his wife.

The walls of the restaurant are decorated with vinyl and album covers of Chinese singers from the 60's which he salvaged from his father's collection.

The food served here are the typical Chinese favorites.

Parking is ok.

The front of the restaurant.

Albums covers adorned the wall.

Bean curd-deep fried until golden brown-topped with minced meat and dry prawns-served with some blanched romaine lettuce-a great combination-Rm14/

Steamed Egg Custard-with century egg, duck and chicken egg yolk-was not smooth to my liking but good to savor-Rm8/

Curry Fish head-served in a piping hot clay pot-fish was very fresh and filled with lots of vegetables like Chinese round cabbage, okra, long beans, eggplants-curry was red, rich, spicy and creamy-best of the meal- Rm20/

Butter Mantis Prawn-lightly batter-meaty, crispy and aromatic because of the curry leaves-served with slices of cucumber on a bed of lettuce-snacky and delicious-Rm20/

Fried Hokkien Mee-yellow noodle fried with light and dark soy sauce, pieces of thinly sliced fish cake, pork, prawn and deep fried lard-oily and a bit salty-otherwise it was excellent-courtesy of Mr Ng.

Dainty tea cup.

RESTORAN GREEN VIEW

Restaurant Green View was always packed whenever we drive passed it, on our way to the SS2 area. It is located next to Menara Merias in Section 19, Petaling Jaya. Every now and then they have promotion on their crab dishes. I like their signature dish -fried big river prawns (udang galah) mein, cooked in thick egg gravies and their sweet and sour XL crabs. This place is opens 365 days and service is fast and efficient. Parking is not too much of a problem. Tonight my nephew and his wife joined us for dinner there.

Appetizer-fried bean curd with freshly sliced onions rings, century egg and tiny bits of pickled ginger-dipped in Thai chillies sauce for added flavor-appetizing-rm12/
.

Sea prawns done in two styles-shelled and de-veined 1.lightly battered prawns with mayonnaise and honey dew 2.buttered prawns-was fresh and succulent.-rm70/

Fish head curry-full of fish meat and vegetables-was not too spicy, with a lot of chillies oil skimming on the surface -best with fluffy white fragrant rice.-rm50/

Herbal chicken 1/2- overpowering with too much herbs making the gravies a big letdown to the palate.-rm30/

Stir fry kai lan and choy sam-with cloved garlic-the fresh and green colors make it so tempting -need it to balance off the meat.-rm15/

Fried big la la (shellfish) in preserved bean sauce-it was big and tasty.-rm40/

HO HO STEAMBOAT RESTAURANT

Rainy days and cold weather are the best time to have hot steamboat. The food are meant to be cooked and enjoyed as slowly as possible, in between chit-chatting. This restaurant is a franchisee of the famous HO HO Steamboat in Seri Petaling. The ingredients offered are daily, freshly delivered, from Pulau Ketam, a fishing village built on stilts off the Selangor coast. Only a tasty, clear superior soup is available. The fried bean curd was a good appetizer, while we waited for the food to be cook in the pot. We ordered side dishes like streaky bacon, tong oh (amanranth) and enoki mushroom. The sambal belacan (shrimp paste, chili sauce) mixed with the sweet bean sauce was a good dip for the cooked food. Here, it's does not cost a "bomb" to have such a wonderful meal. It was still drizzyling, after the meal.

Appetizer-fried bean curd-oily but was soft and tasty-rm6/

Steamboat per person-full of different types of real fresh ingredients-rm13/.

Sliced streaky bacon-was thinly sliced and cooked easily in the hot soup-the fats and meat just melt in your mouth-rm12/.

Tong Oh-(amanranth)-leafy and came without the usual "sandy" feel (if not cleaned properly) i like the distinct aroma of it- rm7/.

Enoki or golden needle mushroom-do not overcooked, or else it will be tough-good anti-cancer properties-rm7/.

Egg noodle and vermicelli plus 4 eggs-part of the package.

The hot pot- full of tasty and delicious cooked food.

Sweet bean sauce and sambal chili sauce.
