HEE LAI TON RESTAURANT (PUCHONG) SDN BHD.

Saturday lunch time with my buddies, we went to "pig-out"at Hee Lai Ton Restaurant (Puchong Sdn Bhd) in Bandar Puchong Jaya(opposite IOI Mall), Puchong.

Bandar Puchong Jaya's busy commercial area is full of eating places from mobile steamboat vans in the evening to simple coffee shops or designer restaurants.

Hee Lai Ton is having a "Eat all you can" promotion for Rm23.80 tt excluding rice and tit bits.

The five of us were filled up to the rim after the marathon feast from 12 pm-2.30 pm-very bad for health but once in a while it was a luxury!

A grandeur place to dine.

A bowl of Sharkfin soup for each of us-the broth was tasty but there was not much Sharkfin.

Soy sauce sea Prawns-don't be fool-the smaller ones are at the bottom but nevertheless it was tender and succulent.

Roast Duck (Thigh)-ordered 2 plates -very crispy skin, meaty and juicy with a distinct flavor-best!

Claypot Pork ribs-well braised, firm and meaty with melt in the mouth soft Beancurd sheets.

Steamed Grass Carp belly with blended Ginger garnished with slivers of carrots and Coriander leaves-smooth, fine textured and very fresh.

Steamed Boiler Chicken with black Fungus and knotted Golden Lily buds-meat was tender and meaty- the juicy essence was a delight to slurp.

Fried Tung Hoon (Glass noodle) with 2 small sized Crabs and pungent aromatic Parsley-the Crab meat shrunk and the noodle were way too salty.

Mixed assorted vegetables-young baby Corn, sliced Lotus root, Celery, Asparagus and Onion-refreshing and delicate flavor to balance off all the meat.

Deep fried Squid with salted Egg-lightly battered, very flavorful from the Curry leaves and salted Egg.

Fried Sang Mee (Egg noodle) with Squid, Pork, earthy Button Mushroom and crunchy Beansprout-a good combination.

Fruits (Papaya/ Honeydew) and sweet dessert (Sea coconut/Lychee) to end a wholesome meal.

RESTORAN YEE HEONG-SANG KUAT (BAK KUT TEH)

Restoran Yee Heong is one of my favorite place for fresh Pork ribs Bak Kut Teh, one of the best in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Puchong.

The restaurant is a corner shoplot and can be very hot during the lunch hour because the shop faces North with the hot afternoon sun beaming right into the side of the shop from the East.

The heat was no damper as business was good and customers were prepare to sweat a bit after the meal.

Parking is hell, most customers double parked.

Tea leaves and tea paraphernalia displayed are for sale.

Sang Kuat (Fresh pork ribs) Bak Kut Teh-cook on order-takes about half an hour to cook-clear, robust herbal flavored soup with lots of Coriander leaves-ribs was sweet and refreshing with a firm texture-Awesome!-Rm28/

Chicken Rice Wine-the hot claypot retains all the nutrient and aroma of the tender and meaty free range Chicken-served with generous amount of Kei Chee (Wolfberries), black Fungus, sliced and finely chopped Ginger-it will perks up all of your 5 senses-Rm16/

Round white Cabbage-finely chopped and stir fried with deep fried dried Shrimps-a bit salty to my liking-Rm7/

Steamed Grass Carp-with blended old Ginger, some specks of red Chillies and light Soy sauce-garnished with Coriander leaves-fresh with no mud smell-Rm18/

RESTORAN ZHENG JI

The Cheras Business Centre is not a good place to be in during lunch hour as the place lacks parking spaces. Restoran Zheng Ji was just a few stairs down from where we finished our business deal. It is small place -about twelve tables-with an open kitchen in front of the restaurant-we could see the chef at work. As we were their first customer of the day, service was prompt. The waitress recommended us. three of their signature dishes.

Grass carp (1/2) cooked with yam-the fish was fresh, battered and deep fried-then braised with yam, bean curd, white cabbage, button mushroom to give it a creamy, thick and sticky gravy and garnished with coriander leaves-goes well with rice.-RM24/

Braised mutton-a gamy smell wafted the air when it was cooked in the clay pot- meat from the ribs-soft in texture with a distinct fragrance-does not overpower the taste-RM18/

Fat, green.stemmy and leafy, fibrous choy sam-RM10/

Boiled dried Pak Choy soup-to complement the meal.-FOC
