RESTORAN TEO CHEW MOI.

Nowadays, eating Teo Chew porridge with small plates of cooked food and tit bits for lunch or dinner is a trend.

Restoran Teo Chew Moi located opposite of the Giant Hypermart in Bandar Puteri, Puchong is riding on the bandwagon and thriving because of it.

Teo Chew porridge can be quite expensive because of the tendency to order more.
There are many varieties of visually, tempting cooked food to lure you and all of it goes with the hot and piping bowl of whole grain watery rice porridge which
at Rm1.80/ is unlimited.

I was there with my family to try out the food and we came away full, happy, and contended.

Parking is OK.

Braised Duck-firm and tender with a distinct flavor-Rm24/.

Preserved Chinese Mustard-coarsely chopped, was surprised that it was not salty-Rm6/.

Steamed pork patty-served individually in metal bowl with low ratio of fats and topped with salted egg yolk-Rm4/.

Crispy white anchovies and toasted peanuts sauteed with a sprinkling of sugar-Rm5/.

Pillowy soft square Tofu (beancurd) pot stewed with the gravy from the braised duck-Rm6/.

Braised pig's big intestine was my mum's fave-Rm8/.

Preserved Radish (chai poh) omelette was fragrant-Rm6/.

Braised Char Yok (pork belly cut into bite sizes, marinated with preserved beancurd, lightly battered, deep fried and then braised under a low flame) with black fungus-5 spices flavor, warm and mildly liqourice scent-soft and meaty-Rm6/.

RESTORAN YEE HEONG-SANG KUAT (BAK KUT TEH)

Restoran Yee Heong is one of my favorite place for fresh Pork ribs Bak Kut Teh, one of the best in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Puchong.

The restaurant is a corner shoplot and can be very hot during the lunch hour because the shop faces North with the hot afternoon sun beaming right into the side of the shop from the East.

The heat was no damper as business was good and customers were prepare to sweat a bit after the meal.

Parking is hell, most customers double parked.

Tea leaves and tea paraphernalia displayed are for sale.

Sang Kuat (Fresh pork ribs) Bak Kut Teh-cook on order-takes about half an hour to cook-clear, robust herbal flavored soup with lots of Coriander leaves-ribs was sweet and refreshing with a firm texture-Awesome!-Rm28/

Chicken Rice Wine-the hot claypot retains all the nutrient and aroma of the tender and meaty free range Chicken-served with generous amount of Kei Chee (Wolfberries), black Fungus, sliced and finely chopped Ginger-it will perks up all of your 5 senses-Rm16/

RESTORAN SHABU SHABU

My niece's Iris and her mum want to visit my daughter's Mindy at her home in Puchong. The drive to her place was terrible, with the after office car jams. She recommended us to have dinner at Restoran Shabu Shabu (Japanese style steamboat), then proceed to her condo. This part of Puchong is thriving with lots of restaurant specialising in many types of cuisine. This restaurant is located beside the Giant hypermarket in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. It is fully air conditioned and is simple, with a steel conveyor placed in the center to send the food to tables on the side of it-for a la carte menu only, for buffet style it's upstairs. We managed to persuade the waitress to let us have buffet style on the ground floor as my mum was too weak to climb up the stairs. For this set we can order unlimited food items listed on a menu (see the 6th photo). It cost rm26/person-drinks are free-green tea, sky juice and slurpee. The different plates of food-usually a plate of two items-is quite a sight to behold. The only set back is most of it are frozen and not as freshly made as in Coca. The plus point- it was hygienic, each one have individual pot of broth to cook with. The sauces are chilies, soya sauce with sesame oil and spring onion with lots of deep fried shallots. For me i went for the fresh sliced fish and pork belly, vegetables, prawns, oyster mushrooms....etc i abstained from those frozen balls-i.e. fish. beef, prawn mixed vegetables balls . A word of advice, the restaurant is filled with CCTV cameras, i don't understand why they need it? Intruding into our privacy .

The striking entrance.

Note the steel conveyor belt snaking around

The six of us busy eating- no time to pose!

After the eating time out to have a drink.
