LOR MAI FUN (GLUTINOUS RICE)-STALL NO:42 KAMPAR MORNING FOOD COURT.
Besides the usual Char Kway Teow and the Curry Chee Cheong Fun for breakfast at the morning Foodcourt in Kampar, I also like the the cute and small portioned savory Lor Mai Fun (Glutinous rice) from Stall No:42 at only Rm1.70/plate.
Hawker stalls outside the Food court selling all kinds of takeaway food (on the right is my wife who seems to be giving me some signal, lol !).
This simple and well flavored Lor Mai Fun (Glutinous rice) was not too sticky, served with a large spoonful of fragrant Curry gravy, slices of red colored Char Siew (BBQ pork), toasted crispy Peanuts and chopped fresh delicate Spring onion-a simple and hearty meal to break the morning hunger-Rm1.70/

CHAR KWAY TEOW-KAMPAR MORNING FOOD COURT.
About ten years ago, there was an old lady, who did what this man does i.e. sat on a small and low home made wooden stool and fried Char Kway Teow that was tasty and delicious on a flat griddle beside a Dim Sum shop, in Kampar, Perak
I wondered whether this guy is related to her?
Recently, we went to the morning Food court situated next to the Kampar wet market for our breakfast of Char Kway Teow.
The nearly half an hour's wait was terrible, the digestive juices in my tummy made it turned and growled !
When it was finally served, the first mouthful taste of it, was worthwhile waiting for!.
Char Kway Teow-Charcoal fried with lots of "wok hei" was not too oily with scrambled egg, finely chopped preserved Radish and garlic, Chinese Chives, crunchy Beansprouts, lard and served on the side was hot and fiery Sambal Belachan (Shrimp paste chillies) and a green Lime-simple and no fuss -one of the very best-Rm2.30/

LIEW KEE (AH LEK) CHEE CHEONG FUN-TELUK INTAN.
After a light seafood dinner at Restoran Nagaria in Teluk Intan, we visited my sil Yoke, whose house is just next door to the famous landmark Liew Kee (Ah Lek) Chee Cheong Fun (fat rice noodles in the form of sheets-rolled up and cut in bite size pieces).
It was about 9 pm on a hot humid Saturday night and already there was a long queue waiting to buy their specialty CCF for takeaway.
My Sil, Yoke as a neighbor was given first preference and she bought 5 packets (Rm3/each) of CCF cooked in 2 variants for us.

The process of making the CCF takes less than a minute- a thin layer of the milky white rice flour mixture and the various ingredients were poured into an Aluminium tray-then it was placed into a conveyor driven hot steamer - when it comes out at the other end - it's cooked!

This CCF tasted better-the skin was white, smooth, not too oily and covered with sweet Turnip, deep fried aromatic Shallots and crispy deep fried dried Shrimps.

While this CCF was plain, a bit salty and the rice noodle sheets were covered with deep fried crispy dried Shrimps and chopped fragrant Spring onion only.
Location:725, Jalan Hill,
Teluk Intan, Perak.
Tel: 05-6216-884.
Open-5.30pm-7 am
Close on Sunday and Monday night.

DELICIOUS DINNER 19.
A series of home cooked dinner by my wife.
Spread the mixed sauces over the evenly sliced pig knuckle's meat for additional flavor-more for carnivorous eater.

Preserved salted vegetables (Ham Choy) cooked with strips of pork belly and a sprinkling of red chillies -surprisingly ! it was not salty but very appetizing!
Fresh Bamboo shoots or Piths cooked with strips of Pork and aromatic preserved Bean paste-a tad too oily but the bamboo shoots was crunchy in texture and retains it's crispiness.

GERAI SEONG KEE NO:35 (MEDAN SELERA)
My son Mike was admitted to the Assunta Hospital in Petaling Jaya for a minor surgery, so we have to eat out for two days.
The nearest place to eat was either at the State new town center or PJ old town.
Gerai Seong Kee No:35 in Medan Selera, Petaling Jaya, Old Town was a good and cheap choice as the Yong Liew (stuffed Greens or Beancurd with Fishpaste) are fresh and make only upon order.
Today we ordered a Claypot Assam Stingray fish and some Yong Liew to eat with white rice and after that we walked over to Stall No:46 for a glass of ABC each to finish off the meal.
This small and compact family run stall serves a varieties of delicious food-a hit with office and factories workers.
Assam Fish-we selected sliced Stingray fish with Lady fingers (Okra), Brinjal (Aubergine) and lots of Chinese round Cabbage-thick and infectious tangy Tamarind flavored gravy-it got taste, color and texture-really whet up our appetite!-RM23/.
Yong Liew-fried crackling Siu Kow (dumpling), Fishpaste stuffed crispy Beancurd sheet and tasty delicate flavored Brinjal-Rm1/piece.
Yong tow foo (fishpaste stuffed silky smooth white Beancurd) and a hot red chili in a bowl of clear and tasty soup.
The ABC was served in a tall glass cup with a layer of green Pandan flavored noodle, red Beans, Cincau (black glass jelly), Palm sugar, fresh Coconut milk and finely shaved ice-it was cool and refreshing -a good thirst quencher after the meal.
