Chen Hanwei @ Restoran Onn Kee (Tauge Ayam) Ipoh.

 Guest Post by Michelle.

Restoran Onn Kee (Tauge Ayam) Ipoh is a landmark chicken rice shop in Ipoh city, Perak.
It was the second day of the CNY festival and business was brisk and chaotic with a riot of hungry people waiting to be served and seated.

Next door neighbor Restoran Tauge Ayam Lou Wong was packed to the brim with tables spilling out into the sidewalk.

After shopping for our Valentine Day's gifts, we headed there for lunch and as usual parking was horrible !

While we were enjoying the meal, Samantha spotted that Singaporean popular male actor Chen Hanwei and his family were seated at a table next to us.
She was like wah ! so lucky.

After the meal, we approached him for a group photo and we were so happy when he obliged.

Char KwayTeow

I like my Char Kway Teow (stir-fried flat rice noodle) to have lots of crunchy beansprout, kow choy (chives) with extra fresh succulent prawns, no chillies, no cockles, less oil, a dash of pepper and a hot teapot of Pu'er tea to wash it down !

Chee Cheong Fun Stall-TAPAH.

Unlike Bidor, Tapah town lacks a good place to have a decent Chinese breakfast.

But there is a Chee Cheong Fun (flat rice noodle rolls) stall manage by a husband/wife, beside the wet market which is not too bad.

Yesterday morning,
we were there for a quick and light breakfast.

Smooth CCF with deep fried stuffed fishpaste beancurd sheets- a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and topped with Curry gravy.

Smooth CCF with blanched long bean, pickled green chillies on the side-sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and doused with sweet bean paste gravy and chillies.

Assorted Yong Lui (deep fried stuffed fishpaste/turnip ingredients) to go with the smooth CCF.
