Restoran Makanan Laut Lung Seng @Tanjung Tualang.

If you happen to be around Mambang Diawan (Fairies in the Clouds)
Tanjung Tualang is just not too far away.

Restoran Makanan Laut Lung Seng is one of the earlier restaurant to
serve freshwater prawn and is also  fully air-conditioned.

Located about 30 minutes away from Kampar town.

The main draw in  this small, sleepy hollow of Tanjung Tualang town is their
freshwater prawn, seafood restaurants and a Sunday Pasar Malam.

We had freshwater prawns + sea prawn (not enough of freshwater prawns)
cooked in kon chin har lok styled-very fresh, sweet, succulent and fragrant.

Boiled Cuttlefish with freshly diced green cucumber and big onion doused
in a thick, sweet and spicy Rojak-like sauce with lots of crushed peanuts.

Grouper fish head with long beans, okra, brinjal cooked in a creamy"lemak"
spicy Indian styled curry - very appetizing and goes well with rice.

Marmite pork ribs was well marinated and tender.

House made Tofu was silky smooth-topped with a Tapioca flour reduced
brown sauce with shrimp, sliced carrot, mushroom, young baby corn and pea bean.

Overall a good spread of food for the eight of us.

Parking is OK.

Kon chin har lok -fresh water prawns and added sea prawns.

Cuttlefish with rojak sauce.

Curry Grouper fish head.

Marmite Pork ribs.

House made Tofu.

CNY Dinner @ Dragon Star Seafood Restaurant..

This will be the tenth time we are having Yee Sang for dinner.

Tonight it was at Dragon Star Seafood Restaurant, one of my favorite restaurant.

The Salmon Yee Sang @ Rm40 for half portion was only just average, saved for those cashew nuts that we added to it which added some nutty flavor with every bite.

The rest of the dishes were consistent with what they usually served and was up to our expectations except for the Tofu.

Overall a great and affordable dinner to end the CNY !

Salmon Yee Sang (1/2 portion)-was average with a sweet plum sauce-we added our own Cashew nuts for more crunchiness-Rm40/
Braised Pig Trotter with Fatt Choy (black moss)-well marinated with soft tender meat and a bouncy skin-Rm38/
Braised house made Tofu stuffed tough fishpaste, topped with a shrimp and doused with a egg gravy-a big disappointment-Rm22/
Blanched stemmy, leafy, and crunchy Hong Kong Kai Lan-Rm24/
Steamed Loong Tan fish  (giant Garouper fish) -thickly sliced with collagen skin in a superior soy sauce/peanut oil-Rm120/
Wok fried generously sized Sea Prawns-fused with superior soy sauce-fragrant but not juicy-Rm60/
Green Dragon Vegetable-leafy with a pungent aroma-Rm24/

Steamed prawns with Chinese Shao Hsing wine-fresh, juicy and succulent.

Toasted peanuts and deep fried Anchovies tossed with oil blended dried red chillies with a sprinkling of coarse sugar-goes well with Teo Chew white porridge, plain white rice or eat it on it's own-can be kept for a few days in an air tight container.

Sliced crispy Bamboo pith shoots cooked with thin, sweet Enoki mushroom, green Gong Cai (King's Vegetable) and slivers of chicken meat-crunchy with a fusion of earthy flavors.

East Ocean Restaurant @ Kampar.

Every year my Mil's children will treat her to a sumptuous dinner at different restaurants around Ipoh or Kampar.

For this year's dinner it was held at East Ocean Restaurant @ Kampar which has branches in Chemor and Menglembu in Perak.

It is located near the Tesco Hypermarket and the restaurant is air-conditioned and occupied three shoplot.

Parking is a breeze as most of the shops are closed in the night.

The dinner started with the Longevity noodle-wheat flour noodle cooked in superior grade soy sauce with generous strips of pork and slivers of soft and smooth mushroom seated on a bed of blanched Kow Choy.

Four Combination Platter-served on a big plate with an eye catching "sea design" 1) crabmeat/seaweed/salted egg rolls with a dash of Mayonnaise 2) Stir fried fresh scallop with onion/red & green sliced capsicum. 3) a slice of Lotus root topped with Fish paste (too much flour)/shrimp/gingko and bathed with a smooth tasty gravy. 4) balls of white Dragon fruit.

Steamed Herbal Chicken in soup-filled with mushroom and mini abalone-tasty and herbal flavored -a bit like chicken essence.

Roast Suckling piglet-normally it is all skin only but this one got lean meat attached to the skin-served with Mantou.

Steamed White Promfret (1 kg)-smooth and tender with no fishy after taste-good grade soy sauce/peanut oil and garnished with cilantro and spring onion.

Deep fried Sea prawns-big, fresh and succulent-would have tasted better if tossed in more Soy sauce with gravy to go with the bed of spring onion.

Mixed Vegetables-sweet pea bean, celery, lotus root, Lily bulb, carrot and cashew nuts-a great dish.

Sweet Dessert of cool Soybean and white fungus.

Pastry-deep fried Wheat flour dough with a Sesame crust and Pandan flavored filling-not overly sweet.

Ice cream cake-corn flavored for her 83th Birthday.

Restaurant Extra Super Tanker

This was another great dinner with some of my family members at Restaurant Extra Super Tanker to celebrate Mother's Day.

The food were selected by the four mothers of the night.

This restaurant is located in Damansara Kim, a quiet residential neighborhood so parking is not a problem.

Crab meat Omelette cooked with beansprout, deep fried dried shrimp and pine nut -eat it by placing some of the crab meat omelette on a piece of iced cool fresh lettuce .

Braised Loong Tan (giant Garouper) with sliced Shiitake mushroom, smooth Beancurd sheet and dried scallop-well braised and the fish's gelatinous collagen skin was absolutely great.

Claypot Pork ribs-came piping hot-well marinated and the ribs even though small in size were quite meaty.

Smoked chicken-first time having this dish-the skin tasted too smokey but the meat was tender.

Kam Kua Tofu (Pumpkin Tofu) is basically blended pumpkin and cubed pumpkin cooked with sweet green bean, slivers of carrot and shrimp-the children love this dish.

Kon Chin Har Lok-sea prawns wok fried with chopped onion/garlic/oil and tossed in a superior sweet Soy sauce-very generously sized and fragrant.

Stir fried HongKong Kai Lan-leafy, big fat stem and not fibrous at all.
